Uptown High offers a warm and supportive environment that encourages students, teachers and parents to work as a team to achieve the greatest successes in learning. As parents, we encourage you to play a pivotal role in helping expand our wide and challenging array of after-school activities, which currently include the ever-popular Adventure Club. We’re also looking to conquer new territories with various overseas trips and welcome your involvement. In short, we’re very conscious of the important role parents can play in creating the best environment for the development of our students.
The IB philosophy we uphold incorporates the idea that respect and service for our wider community starts in the classroom. This ethos underpins the relationship between staff and students and explains the high expectations each has of the other. We encourage hands-on participation from everybody, thereby promoting a school environment characterised by responsible citizenship, community awareness and social concern, and breeding the confidence to make an effective contribution.
