Can students complete their personal project in a language other than the school’s language of instruction?
Where schools can ensure the supervision and the internally standardised assessment of the personal project. It is possible to offer second-language students the possibility of completing their personal project in their mother tongue. Where this is not possible, schools and students are encouraged to take advantage of available forms of language support, including technology, to complete the written part of the project. The project itself may take many forms, which allows students much flexibility to express personal reflection and creativity. Please consult the Personal Project Guide, page 20, for further information. Please note that the personal project samples for moderation must be in one of the official IB languages.
